We spent last weekend in beautiful Annapolis for our friend Dan and Christy's wedding. We went to college with Dan and he was the best man in our wedding. So, Kevin was a best man in his (interestingly, there were two). Anyway, their church was this adorable little chapel with a really cool looking stained glass window up front. I liked it especially since it was a portrait of Saint Paul, and we live on St. Paul Street in Baltimore. Maybe he's our patron saint of major traffic thoroughfares. Here's a few of the groomsmen before the ceremony. Kevin is mini compared to those tall drinks of water:
The weather was a bit iffy that day - drizzly one moment and pouring the next. But amazingly, the clouds parted and the sun shined just in time for the ceremony and reception. Here are our friends Dave and Jamie taking a walk on the dock. The reception was at the Annapolis Yacht Club:
Two words: wedding cupcakes. Need I say more?
The group! We have some great (and good lookin'!) friends:
Here is Kevin giving his best man speech. He labored quite a bit over those words, and I have to say he was a huge hit (as an objective bystander, of course). There's something about poking fun at Dan's online gambling snafus and his obsession with Excel spreadsheets that just brings the laughs out of everyone. I think Dan is licking some cupcake icing off his finger. Man, those cupcakes were good:
After the reception, we went down to the dock and climbed aboard one of the wedding party's family member's (you following me?) yacht. Now THAT was a fun time. Great drinks, cigars, food, friends, oldies music, the bride and groom. What more could you ask for?
This is my absolute favorite shot of night. Jamie and Kevin look like mobsters, and Libby looks straightup like a Bond girl.
Here's us hanging with the bride and groom, both far right. Dan was wearing his Redskins beanie. Of course.
Here's us ladies. I think at that time of the night, my hair was past the point of no return. The photo is hazy because 1) of all the cigar smoke and 2) I dropped and broke the camera. Now its permanently hazy and frizzy:
A final toast to the newlyweds!
Us the next morning. We were all hurting, needless to say:
All in all, probably one of the most fun weddings we've been to (besides ours, of course!).
